Administration
This core is headed by the MAC Director. Although all funding to MAC is channeled through the College of Medicine, the MAC administration team is the main link between the College and the Principal Investigators on one hand and the donors on the other hand. Thus in grant management, the administrative team is involved in: budgeting; record keeping; expenditure tracking; financial reporting. We also support all MAC projects in the areas of procurement and human resource management, all in conjunction with the appropriate departments within COM.

Prof. DON P. MATHANGA (Director)

As the Director of the Centre, Professor Don is responsible for shaping the work environment, setting strategy, allocating resources, developing managers, building the organization, and overseeing operations.

Chikondi Khofi (Administrative Manager)

Chikondi ensures that all departments work cohesively while attending to various operational needs for each department. She is responsible for maintaining day to day financial, administrative and personnel services in support of the operations of MAC in accordance with the accounting and legal requirements of the College of Medicine (COM) and our donors.

Human resource Management

MAC’s human resource approach concentrates on acquiring services of people, developing their skills, motivating them to the foremost level and making sure that they continue to maintain their commitment towards the projects and the centre..

Financial reporting, budget tracking and reporting

We ensure adherence to systems and controls to track and analyse income and spending, financial reporting requirements.

Stock management

A significant amount of project funds is invested in project supplies. It is our responsibility to track stocks, maintain accurate records and safeguard stocks against theft and fraud.

Procurement

We work tirelessly to ensure we achieve value for money in all project purchases through increased transparency, standardized checks and balances, a stop to internal or external theft, and elimination of corruption.

Fleet management

We play a vital role in overseeing project vehicles are available for the transportation of project teams and supplies. We work alongside other departments to ensure deliveries and distributions are made on time and the required vehicles are available and

Other income generating activities

As one way of ensuring long term sustainability the centre rents out its excess office space. We also have a seminar room that is hired out at a fee as a way of generating income.
